Storage Unit 4 High 2 Wide
It's no accident that this storage unit, designed in 1950, looks like a Bauhaus structure. Charles Eames, influenced by European modernist architects, took a functional approach, choosing not to soften the off-the-shelf-look of the unit's components. Steel uprights, cross supports, and perforated panels are solidly visible. Plywood, a simple, strong material and one of Eames's favorites, forms shelves, drawer fronts, and dimpled doors. Painted laminate sides and backs show their colors. And in keeping with its forthright appearance, this 4-high, 2-wide unit provides plenty of practical storage. Adjustable glides keep everything on the level. Shown in Natural Color
